gas spring mounting instructions for bonnet or boot/cargo area
1. Please note that gas springs always should be replaced in pairs.
2. Open and secure the hatch bonnet or boot
3. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the old gas springs from mounting brackets. Lift the spring steel sheet on the old gas springs head and pull the strut outward to disengage the strut ball from peg.
4. Attention; Always mount NK gas springs with the piston house up, regardless of the position of the old gas springs.
5. Attach the new gas springs to the mounting brackets one at a time. Tools are not needed. Slight hand pressure is enough to secure the fitting.
6. Test the new gas springs to ensure that they are functioning properly. Open and close the bonnet or boot a few times to make sure that the gas springs are providing the necessary support.
Be sure to double-check that everything is securely attached before driving the car.
